Novogen Increases its Production Capacity
In late November 2020, NOVOGEN inaugurated its hatchery at Gare D’Uzel after a year of renovation works. Since the establishment of the facility, the business has continued growing despite the challenging and unpredictable conditions due to ongoing outbreaks of Avian Influenza.
The acquisition of NOVOGEN by the Wesjohann Group in late 2021 was an additional growth factor.Extending the facility became a necessity, and the expansion works continued throughout 2023 to start the new incubation room in December 2023.
This investment increased the hatchery’s capacity by 20% with small-capacity incubators featuring advanced technology. These small incubators will also enable more specific and precise incubation management. Further adjustments have been made to enhance comfort in workflows and the working environment.
“This new investment will allow us to continue developing the hatchery’s activities while maintaining a high sanitary level, ensuring the well-being and optimal start of chicks to produce high-quality products,” adds Zaccharie Delcourt, NOVOGEN Hatchery Manager.
“We thank everyone involved in this project. Through this investment, NOVOGEN shows its desire to accelerate its development and strengthen its position as a major player in the genetic selection for laying chicken,” says Mickaël Le Helloco, CEO of NOVOGEN.
