Novogen & Agotzaina, doing and succeeding together

AGOTZAINA started its laying activity in 2020, becoming a partner with NOVOGEN for the development of the Spanish egg market. Since the integrated poultry company has developed rapidly, continuing its expansion path to become a leader in the table eggs and industrial egg market. Through their competent technical structure and directly supported by the genetic of NOVOGEN.

Starting from flocks of NOVOgen Brown breeders, the entire production process up to the egg production is spread throughout the Spanish territory and managed by the company owners. Breeding of parent stock, incubation of hatching eggs and subsequent hatching of NOVOgen Brown chicks, reared and egg production are controlled directly by the veterinary technical team and always supported by the NOVOGEN technical service.

Currently, the pullets intended for egg production reach performance standards of the breed, and consequently, the required production results are satisfied.”

AGOTZAINA have 30 000 NOVOgen brown parent stock, able to hatch more than 100 000 commercial layer chicks per week. The NOVOgen brown chicks are reared in all systems (floor, aviary and cages). A big network of farms distributed throughout Spain ensures a significant production of eggs for consumption and processed products based on eggs.

The rapid progress of the AGOTZAINA company and the continuous exchange of technical and commercial information with NOVOGEN currently constitutes a solid starting point to further increase in the egg market in Spain.

As is well known, the main objective of the Spanish market is to have the maximum quantity of “jumbo” eggs with an excellent brown color of the shell. That’s why the management needs to be adjusted according to this production target. Andrea says: “We work on a lighting program adapted to the market needs of the egg size in Spain. As well as the management of pullets based on weight; it is a cornerstone of egg production to always obtain pullets with excellent health and body weight for them be ready to lay.”

In parallel, Agotzaina also work on the nutritional aspect with our nutritionist, Ozgur Korkmaz, on adapting the feed distribution to be able to stimulate correct feed consumption. But also, on feeding phases and presentation of the feed through continuous exchange of information. NOVOGEN team constantly ensures a technical and commercial assistance service to the AGOTZAINA company in constant expansion on the Spanish egg market.
